We Respond
Each of these symbols tells us of a different part of the Gospel, God’s Good News. Take the time to understand these symbols and it could change your life forever.  Below you will find an explanation of each, as well as some verses from the Bible, God’s message to us, that confirm these truths and help us to understand them better.

This picture of the globe reminds us that GOD CREATED the whole world and all of mankind.  The Biblical God of Creation is both loving and holy, generous and just.  Because God is our creator, we all have an innate VALUE in His eyes, and we are directly RESPONSIBLE to Him for how we live and the choices we make.

Genesis 1:26-31; Jeremiah 18:6; Romans 9:20-21; Psalm 139:13-16; Genesis 2:16-17; Exodus 20:1-17
The tree reminds us of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, the very place where MAN REBELLED against the leadership of God. Instead, man pursued as more valuable than God; things that felt good, looked good, and made them important.  Because man rebelled, God in His holy justice declared that mankind earned DEATH and the WRATH, or judgement, of God Himself as rebellion’s consequences.
Sadly, the rebellion against God didn’t end that day, but each of us has chosen to continue the rebellion, and have earned for ourselves the same death and wrath earned by Adam and Eve.

Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; Revelation 20:10-15; Exodus 34:6-7
An empty tomb declares that CHRIST DIED AND ROSE.  As 100% God and 100% man, Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life and then willingly gave Himself as the “lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” In His death, Jesus absorbed the wrath of God and paid the debt of punishment that we owed.  In His resurrection, Jesus was confirmed by the Father as the only Son of God, proving His promises of LIFE and FORGIVENESS for everyone who submits their lives to Him in belief.

Mark 10:45; John 1:29; 1 Peter 2:24; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; Romans 5:8-9
The Good News is that new life and forgiveness through Jesus are available to everyone, but it is critical that WE RESPOND.  It’s possible to respond in one of three ways, but only one of those responses results in life and forgiveness.  We can reject the truth about Jesus and continue to live under death and God’s Wrath.  We can ignore Jesus and hope that things will just work out alright, but this has the same result as rejecting him, death and wrath.
The only response that brings life and forgiveness is to REPENT and BELIEVE, making the choice to turn away from our old way of living life and putting all our trust in Jesus as our leader and sacrifice for sin.

Mark 1:15; John 3:14-18; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 20:21; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:9-10; 1 Peter 3:18
